Recycle Museum

We’re learning about recycling and set up a “Recycle Museum.” We discussed recycling and thought of creative ways to reuse materials instead of throwing them away. Teachers asked the children for ideas and each classroom came up with a unique concept!

Teacher Appreciation Week

We are happy to be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and thankful to all of our wonderful teachers – their hard work and caring makes a difference in children’s lives!

Watch Our New Video!

We debuted our new video at our Gladys Knight benefit concert and now we’re thrilled to share it with everyone!

A Wonderful Evening with Gladys Knight!

Thank you to everyone who attended our benefit concert at The Palace Theatre April 22!

The seven-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer took the stage after our reception, which raised over $400k for our programs!  Former David Letterman announcer and Stamford resident Alan Kalter and New York City TV journalist Carol Anne Riddell co-hosted the event. We honored Rachel Hennessey as the newest member of its Alumni Hall of Fame during the pre-concert reception. Hennessey works in communications for JP Morgan Chase in New York and is also an author.

We were also proud to honor our staff members who retired in the past year: Emma Cassell (34 years) Rosebud Davis (35 years) Lucia Mendieta (22 years) Mamie Jones (25 years) Velma Walker (12 years) and Imelda D’Luc (20 years) – Thank you!

Preschoolers from CLC’s Westover site kicked off the event with a performance in front of special guests that included Senator Richard Blumenthal, Stamford Mayor David Martin and Congressman Jim Himes. Over 1,100 people attended!

It’s ‪#‎NationalNutritionMonth‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ and this year’s theme is “Put Your Best Fork Forward.” Our nutrition team educated the community on the dangers of too much sugar – and the outrageous amounts of sugar found in many popular drinks! Quench your thirst with water, low-fat milk, seltzer or juice instead of artificially flavored soda or energy drinks! For more information visit
