Dance Party!

We always have tons of fun during our “come play with me” activities with our friends at Edgehill! Today volunteers led story time, singing and dancing!

Edgehill residents – who are CLC Palmers Hill neighbors! – visit regularly for reading, games, gardening and other fun, educational engagements with our children. The partnership and friendship is a great way to unite our community across generations and offers our children, teachers and seniors special times to look forward to throughout the year.

Cirlce Time!

Starting every day with circle time – where our little ones gather to listen to stories and participate in fun group activities, like sing-alongs!

Our New Menus are Up!

Our toddlers enjoy lunchtime together each day! Check out our healthy menus for infants, toddlers and preschoolers! CLC serves 500,000 meals and snacks each year – breakfast, lunch and a snack for every child!

Thanks, Lions!

The Lions’ Clubs of Stamford and Greenwich visited CLC to offer free pediatric vision screenings as part of their Lions KidSight program. The program helps parents identify and treat vision problems –crucial for early learning success! More than 10 percent of local children are referred to a complete eye exam after the screenings.

Healthy Smiles!

Dental professionals visited us to talk about healthy teeth, brushing and the importance of healthy foods and dental care!

Summertime Fun

Our summertime activities provide more than just fun in the sun. At CLC, kids get to stimulate cognitive and social/emotional development through play and practice their emerging physical skills.

Advocate Op-ed

In our ongoing effort to reach out to the Stamford community to spread the word about our vital programs and urge greater support, our guest column was published in the Stamford Advocate.  Thank you Jennifer Lapine and Dudley Williams for lending your name and support to it!

Op-ed: Stamford’s young children need your support

Thanks to vast, conclusive research on brain development, early childhood education is finally receiving some of the national attention it deserves. Children who participate in high-quality early learning programs show benefits that go well beyond school achievement to positive outcomes ranging from college attendance to higher lifetime earning power.

A Special Thanks to Our Elected Representatives!

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Representative Patricia Billie Miller for working closely with CLC on Senate Bill 912 which was recently signed by Governor Malloy.  We would also like to thank the Connecticut General Assembly Education Committee as well as members of the Stamford and Greenwich Delegation for their work and support on this Bill.  A special thank you to Senator Gayle Slossberg, Education Committee Co-Chair; Representative Robert Sanchez, Education Committee Vice Chair and Senator Carlo Leone for their leadership.

The Bill allows state funded early childhood programs to hire highly qualified teachers from regionally accredited higher education institutions. Previously, programs were limited to hiring from 5 approved state schools or requiring teachers to complete a complicated review process.  The new law will have a tremendous positive impact on CLC and our teachers.

The agency, staff, teachers, children, and families all thank you!

Garden Wagon Delivery!

Thank you to our friends from Edgehill Community for donating an awesome red wagon for our garden! We immediately put it to good use picking carrots. Our Sandak Garden is a fun learning experience that encourages children to connect with nature and helps them learn about healthy foods! 🌾🥕😀
